Job summary

NWU is seeking a motivated engineering intern to support tooling development in a manufacturing setting. You’ll work on CAD modeling, creating 3D models and drawings, and updating BOMs while engaging in mold design reviews with a cross-disciplinary team.

The role targets students pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Tooling/Plastics Engineering, with a basic CAD background, strong problem-solving skills, and solid communication.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Tooling/Plastics Engineering or related field.
• CAD proficiency to create and modify 3D models and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support mold tooling design and tooling development.
• Create and update 3D models and detailed drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Collaborate with toolmakers, machinists, and engineers on tooling projects.
• Assist with mold design reviews and manufacturability discussions.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
