Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Layton, Utah is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer (Level 2) to create 3D models and 2D drawings used in tooling manufacturing. You will design effective tooling for new and existing programs and lead critical design reviews to ensure customer satisfaction.

The role requires a Bachelor's in STEM and the ability to obtain DoD clearance. Experience with NX modeling and GD&T is preferred, with strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields with design/manufacturing focus or equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain DoD clearance and Special Program Access prior to starting.
• Experience with solid modeling and 2D drawing preparation.
• Experience with GD&T practice and implementation.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and 2D drawings for tooling and manufacturing support.
• Design safe, effective tooling for new and existing programs.
• Lead 30/60/90% design reviews to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with internal customers and other tooling teams.
• Monitor budget and schedule for assigned tasks.
