Job summary

Halliburton in New Iberia, LA, is seeking a Tool Technician I to perform maintenance on conventional and down-hole tools. You will work under supervision to inspect and repair equipment, assemble/disassemble tools, and ensure safe operation in the field.

The role requires a high school diploma and 6–12 months of related experience, basic math and reading/writing skills, and willingness to follow HSE guidelines. Evening and overtime may be required based on field needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 6–12 months experience as Tool Technician I or similar training.
• Basic computer skills preferred; may require licensure to drive commercial equipment.
• Strong communication skills are necessary to coordinate with team and field personnel.
• Basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) is required.
• Ability to read and write at a basic level; attention to detail in repair work.
• Promotes safety and environmental compliance with HSE regulations.
• Grows with the job through higher levels (Tool Tech II/III/IV) depending on experience and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain conventional and down-hole tools under general supervision.
• Specializations may include mechanical aptitude, pressure testing, surface equipment, and down-hole tools.
• Maintain and inspect surface equipment and perform repairs as needed.
• Assemble and disassemble down-hole tools as part of maintenance routines.
