Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical degree in machining preferred; enrolled in machining courses acceptable.
• 1–2 years in a machine shop tool room and/or knowledge of CNC tooling is highly preferred.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain tooling lists for active machine programs.
• Set up tooling for machinists before machining operations.
• Tear down and inspect used tooling; place in correct locations.
• Stock tooling in replenishment system; perform stock checks.
• Maintain a clean, 5S compliant tool room and storage system.
• Assist programmers and shift supervisor to troubleshoot tooling issues.
• Test tooling upgrades and new technology with programmers and tool room coordinator.
• Observe safe work practices and perform other duties as assigned.
