Job summary

Commercial Steel Erection, Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Tools Clerk to receive, store, and issue hand tools, machine tools, dies, and related equipment in an industrial setting.

You will maintain records, perform inventory, inspect items for defects, and deliver items to job sites while keeping the yard organized. Requirements include an associate degree or equivalent or 6 months to 1 year of related experience, ability to read safety rules and manuals, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to travel and have a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of issued and returned items.
• Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
• Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
• Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment; requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
• Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear; reports damage to supervisors.
• Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment.
• Delivers tools or equipment to workers.
• Marks and identifies tools and equipment.
• Keep yard and shop clean and in order.
• Unload deliveries; inspect for defects; document as needed.
