Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or related certificate preferred.
• 3-5 years metalworking machining experience.
• Experience with CNC machines and programming.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, lathes and mills.
• Must pass qualification testing.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional, special purpose and CNC machines to fabricate and repair parts.
• Operate tool room mills, lathes, grinders, wire EDM machines and miscellaneous equipment to produce and repair complex tooling and dies.
• Program CNC machines.
• Inspect and sharpen cutting tools used in the plant.
• Inspect work to assure all specifications are met.
• Give operating instructions and train trainees.
• Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to set ups and operations within recognized procedures.
• Work with groups in initiating and implementation of Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
• Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
• Complete all daily 5S duties.
• Perform these and all other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.
