Job summary

PTC in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Tool Room Machinist to contribute to a safer, cleaner operation while producing precision parts. The role requires reading blueprints, setting up and operating machine tools, and performing progressive machining with very close tolerances.

You will lay out work from drawings or specifications, use hand tools and measuring instruments, and work with an ERP system and basic computer programs. The position offers full-time hours and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Must have CNC programming and operating experience.
  • Must have knowledge of setting up and operating all available machine tools.
  • Must be familiar with performing progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements.
  • Must be capable of determining operation sequence.
  • Must be able to lay out work from drawings and written instructions.
  • Must be able to use machinist's hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Must have knowledge of fitted and assembled parts.
  • Requires knowledge of advanced shop mathematics.
