Job summary

Ptc Alliance in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a skilled machinist to operate and set up machine tools, read blueprints, and perform precision machining with close tolerances. You will work with multiple metal parts, run tooling, and ensure quality while following safety standards.

Must have CNC programming and machine tool experience, strong measurement skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Must have CNC programming and operating experience.
  • Must have knowledge of setting up and operating all available machine tools.
  • Must be familiar with performing progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements.
  • Must be capable of determining operation sequence.
  • Must be able to skillfully use all machinist's hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Must be familiar with working properties of all metals.
  • Must have knowledge of fitting and assembling where necessary.
  • Must be able to lay out work from drawing sketches or written instructions.
  • Must have enough hand tools to perform work.
  • Requires knowledge of advanced shop mathematics.
  • Will be required to work with minimum supervision.
  • Education: High School or equivalent

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using while numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Ability to follow instructions from technical parameters.

  • Perform duties proficiently, and be able to work in a fast paced environment with ability to handle and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands.
