Job summary

Gentex is seeking a Tool Room Assistant to support the tool room overflow with outside shops, document tool room workflows, and deliver completed work to internal customers. The role involves coordinating with suppliers, tracking orders, maintaining standard tooling in the tool crib, and assisting with purchasing requisitions, CAD-related inquiries, and price research for engineers.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience working with inventory tracking systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience with recordkeeping.
Self-motivation.
Must be available to work overtime as needed.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Document Tool Room measures tracking on spreadsheets.
Order custom components from outside machine shops.
Create and resolve purchase requisitions for tool room orders.
Answer questions about 3D CAD drawings from supply base.
Track orders and coordinate with the project management team.
Deliver completed work to internal customers.
Develop working relationships with suppliers.
Work with suppliers for quantity discounts and bulk purchases.
Research pricing and availability of components for Engineers and other personnel.
Organize and keep track of standard tooling components with tool crib.
Other duties as assigned.
