Qualifications

• 10-15 years of CNC machining experience required.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints is essential.
• Experience with tool room machines and Mastercam is necessary.

Tool Room CNC Machinist
Location: Carol Stream, IL. 60188
Job Type and Duration: Direct hire, full time hourly
Hours: M-Th 6am-4:30pm

Thriving family owned manufacturer is looking for a Tool Room Machinist.

Responsibilities:

1. Machine & build fixtures and devices that hold & cradle our product for machining various operations.
2. Set up/Operate CNC's & Machining Centers via Mastercam.
3. Work on Production parts.
4. Build new forming and sizing dies to produce our products (elbow-cap-reducer forming).
5. Repair and maintain all tools.
6. Assure flow of production and repair at worksite press.
7. Order perishable tools used in tool room.
8. Order alloy and or tool steels per specs.

Skills:

1. Minimum years of experience needed – 10 to 15 yrs.
2. Fanuc lathe and mill controls a plus.
3. Mazak lathe and mill controls a plus.
4. Must be able to use all Tool Room machines, Lathe – Bridgeport Mill – Drill Presses – Table Grinders – Hardness Tester etc. CNC experience (set up/operate).
5. Must know the capability of alloy tool steel and their heat treat limits. Be able to select the proper steel for specific applications.
6. Must have 3-5 years' experience turning & milling set-up, all around Machinist and Mastercam.
7. Read and work from blueprint.
8. Must be reliable.
9. Good communication skills.

2. Manual Lathes.
3. Radial Arm Drills.
4. Jig Mill, Drill Presses.
5. Hardness tester.
6. Surface Grinder.
