Job summary

Kelso Industries in Duncan, SC seeks a Tool Room Clerk to issue, receive, track and store tools and materials used by fabrication crews. Under the Receiving Manager, this role maintains a stocked, organized tool room and weld wire area so the shop floor runs smoothly.

You will work with welders, fitters, maintenance techs, and supervisors daily, helping keep inventory records accurate and tools accounted for.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in tool room, warehouse, shipping and receiving, or material‑handling.
• Able to read packing slips, purchase orders, labels, and tool tags.
• Accurate counting and basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills for entering transactions into inventory.
• Ability to safely operate or work around forklifts and other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Issue and receive tools, equipment, and consumables; record check‑out and check‑in by employee or work order.
• Inspect tools on return; tag out damaged items and report to Receiving Manager.
• Restock welding wire, discs, PPE, and fasteners to set levels.
• Keep shelves, bins, racks, and cabinets clean and organized using 5S practices.
• Follow up with employees on overdue or missing tools.
