Job summary

The Systems Group is seeking an energetic Tool Room Attendant to support day-to-day tool and equipment operations at our Berkeley, SC location. You will track check-in/check-out, organize the tool room, and coordinate basic repairs with qualified technicians to keep operations efficient.

You will work with team members to ensure safety, accuracy, and timely tool access for authorized personnel, while maintaining proper records and complying with company policies.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with hand and power tools operation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate records of tools and equipment, including check-in/check-out and usage monitoring.
  • Distributing tools to authorized personnel and ensuring proper return procedures.
  • Performing routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
  • Coordinating more extensive repairs with qualified technicians.
  • Keeping the tool room clean, organized, and safe per regulations and policies.
  • Communicating with users, vendors, and staff about tool availability and maintenance schedules.

Location: Berkeley, South Carolina

The Systems Group is looking for an energetic individual to be our next Tool Room Attendant. We are looking for someone to help with the day-to-day issues that pop up but to also be part of the big picture and contribute to the long-term strategy of our operations across the country. Tool Room Attendant Job Responsibilities
  • Maintaining accurate records of tools and equipment, including tracking check-in/check-out, monitoring usage, and identifying items needing repair or replacement.
  • Distributing tools and equipment to authorized personnel and ensuring proper return procedures are followed.
  • Performing routine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs, and coordinating more extensive repairs with qualified technicians.
  • Ensuring the tool room is clean, organized, and safe, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Communicating effectively with users, vendors, and other staff regarding tool availability, maintenance schedules, and other related matters.

Experience and Requirements
  • Knowledge of various hand and power tools, their operation, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and record-keeping practices.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and move tools and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills for record keeping and communication.
  • Previous Tool Room Attendant experience in an industrial setting is preferred
  • OSHA Approved Met-Guard boots (annual company allowance provided)
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
