Job summary

Honda South Carolina Manufacturing is seeking skilled machinists to maintain tooling and ensure production of quality parts. The role involves executing process changes, addressing downtimes, and communicating issues to sustain a harmonious flow in the production area.

Qualified candidates typically have 2-4 years of machining or tooling experience and can read metric measurements. The position requires standing for long periods and lifting up to 35 lbs, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of Machining experience or equivalent tooling experience.
• Must understand metric measuring system.
• Demonstrated ability to respond immediately to production floor needs and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct checks and take action according to plant policies to ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Morale.
• Maintain tooling per process requirements using quality control tables and setup procedures.
• Monitor conditions and react to prevent negative production impact.
• Communicate shift results and PDCA progress to support continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate understanding of tooling processes and materials to prevent negative impact.
• Contain/repair nonconforming product to prevent outflow from tooling issues.
• Collaborate with line engineers and vendors to drive improvements.
• Engage in department initiatives like Monozukuri and loss elimination.
