Job summary

D&W Fine Pack LLC is hiring a Tool Prep/Setup Technician in Fort Wayne, Indiana. You will perform basic setup and maintenance of tooling and equipment to support manufacturing operations.

The role requires strict adherence to plant safety procedures, PPE usage, and GMPs while ensuring quality and efficiency on the production floor. Responsibilities include tool changes, mold handling, and basic troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and speaking English required.
• General computer skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
• Know emergency procedures and how to respond to outages or injuries
• Wears PPE as required and follows lockout/tagout procedures
• Inform supervisor of safety issues and report injuries immediately
• Inspects products for conformance to quality standards
• Maintains workstation and completes required documentation
• Assists other workers with tasks as needed
• Follow GMPs in processing and quality practices
• Insert/remove molds and dies; mold and trim die preparation
• Inspect and clean molds and return them to storage racks
• Perform tool changes and final adjustments
• Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments of processing problems

In this function you will perform basic setup and/or maintenance of tooling and equipment in order to support manufacturing.

Technician Responsibilities:

• Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
• Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.
• Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
• Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
• Maintains his or her workstation in neat condition
• Completes all required documentation
• Assists other workers with specific chores as requested
• Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’s
• Ability to insert/remove molds and/or dies
• Mold and trim die preparation
• Inspect and/or clean molds and return them to storage racks
• Performs tool changes and final adjustments
• Performs basic troubleshooting and adjustment of processing problems
