Job summary

D&W Fine Pack LLC is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Electrician to maintain, update, and repair electrical machinery in our Illinois plant. The role supports food safety initiatives and adheres to GMPs while ensuring equipment performs reliably.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and order parts as needed to minimize downtime. Strong reading of manuals and collaboration with team members are essential to success.

Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining electrical machinery in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and follow manuals, blueprints, and repair guides.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills for electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, update, and repair electrical machinery within the facility.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure smooth operation.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts and reassemble machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems using manuals and parts catalogs.
  • Order parts, supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Install wiring and electrical components and assist others on tasks.
  • Follow GMPs and plant safety procedures at all times.
  • Prepare technical reports documenting modifications and procedures.

Job description

In this function you will will be responsible for maintaining, updating and repairing all electrical machinery within building.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blue prints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary
  • Order parts, supplies and equipment
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, machinery and equipment
  • Assists other workers with specific tasks as requested
  • Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’s
  • Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Works within defined processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments
  • Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures
  • Supports the Plant’s Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing / complying with the required practices.
  • Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
  • Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.
  • Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
  • Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately
  • Actively participates in the D&W safety improvement process/activities, e.g. Hazard Identification, Safety Suggestions, Safety Teams, etc.
