Total Safety is looking for a Mechanic/Tool Technician to add to their safety conscious team. As a Mechanic/Tool Technician, you will be responsible for evaluating and repairing tools to factory specifications and customer satisfaction. The hourly pay for this job is $24-$27

Position Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair capabilities
  • Repair broken tools for each customer
  • Maintenance of tools
  • Perform and maintain preventative maintenance schedule for shop tools
  • Clean and maintain mechanic work area and tools
  • Use of proper support equipment PPE
  • Maintain a safe work environment at all times

Role Qualifications

  • Willingness to work overtime Saturday mornings. (As Needed)
  • Able to work on small and large industrial/pneumatic tools, small gas (exp. generators, rammers, Wacker, MQ, Honda)
  • Willingness to be trained to work on a multitude of tools.
  • Be responsible for correct assembly and disassembly of tools in safe and timely manner.
  • Able to work efficiently to meet scheduling and deadlines.
  • Must maintain well-organized work environment.
  • Able to maintain maintenance records using a log book.
  • Ability to read and understand work order for tooling
  • Experience not required - We provide in house training.
  • Able to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to function well as part of a team
  • Intermediate math skills
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol test

Essential Skills And Experience

  • With minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret packing slip.
  • Must be able to fill out tool repair tags and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by customers
  • Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements for specific tools
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to loud noise, dust, fumes, and oil.
