Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for a Tool Maker (1st Shift) based out of their Elgin IL facility. They are a global manufacturer of metal die cast precision components, offering plenty of room for career growth.

Compensation is $27.00/hour + (DOE). The position requires at least 4 years US Military Active Duty experience and 5+ years of tool making experience, with the ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years US Military Active Duty experience required.
• 5+ years tool making experience required; familiar with precision measuring tools and have the ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Will repair existing dies and develop, cut, shape or form metal work pieces to specifications.
• Troubleshoot and repair tooling that is not performing to standards.
• Works on all conventional machine tools.
• Make necessary adjustments to tooling; ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
• Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools.
• Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
• Responsible for following all safety procedures / regulations and keeping immediate work area clean.
• Additional projects may be assigned by the Engineering Manager.
