Job summary

Danfoss Power Solutions in Freeport, IL is seeking a Tool Maker on 1st shift to set up and operate machines for complex machining, preparing tooling, jigs, fixtures and molds for manufacturing.

You will read engineering drawings or CAD models, run lathes, grinders and CNC mills, and inspect parts with precision instruments. Strong basic math, attention to safety, and solid toolroom experience are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3–5 years toolroom experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents; write routine reports.
• Strong math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings or 3D CAD models.
• Set up and operate machines such as lathes, grinders, and CNC mills.
• Construct specialized items including jigs, fixtures, dies, and molds.
• Test and measure finished components with precision instruments.
• Repair, clean, and maintain factory equipment.
