Job summary

The Pivot Group Network in Michigan is seeking an experienced Tool Maker to interpret blueprints and engineering specs, operate a range of machine tools, and fabricate dies and tooling. You will ensure precision, uphold safety standards, and collaborate with engineers to optimize tooling for manufacturability.

Ideal candidates possess a Tool & Die apprenticeship or equivalent, 5+ years in a tooling role, and strong GD&T, blueprints, and CNC skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Tool & Die apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Tool Maker in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient reading of blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and application.
• Experience with manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, EDMs).
• Experience with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Interprets blueprints and engineering specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Operates a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.
• Performs precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Designs and fabricates jigs, fixtures, dies, and other tooling.

• Maintains a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
