Job summary

Manar, Inc. is seeking a Tool Maker to perform preventative maintenance and repair molds and fixtures, and support tool room operations. You will work with 2D/3D mold files and CNC machines as required.

Responsibilities include repairing molds, reading blueprints, operating a Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, and surface grinder, and using CAD/CAM software to convert designs into blueprints. A safe, organized workspace and strong problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Mold building and machining experience required.

Responsibilities

• Repair molds and build fixtures as needed.

Job description

Tool Maker is responsible for preventative maintenance andrepairing a variety of molds and fixtures. Additional tasks involve providing support for tool room equipment operations and use of 2D/3D mold files on the computer. CNC responsibilities include: Programming/ Operating CNC machine as required

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Repair molds as needed, repair or build jigs and fixtures as required.
• Inspects completed molds for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect the molds functionality.
• Read and understand blueprints and CAD files.
• Operate a Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, and surface grinder.
• Uses computer-aided design (CAD/CAM) software to create designs and/or turn designs into blueprints as required.
• Keep all shop machinery clean, maintained and in proper working order.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• All other duties assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Successful completion of an apprentice program or experience in the field recommended
• Mold building and machining experience required.
• CNC operating and programming experience preferred.
• Common operating systems
• Software proficiency
• Technical writing

KNOWLEDGE

• Advanced troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of safety and equipment procedures
• Overhead hoist operation and safety regulations required for mold repair and PM’s
• Standard Mold Preventive maintenance and repairs.

• Excellent verbal and written communication

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Exposed to work in manufacturing /machining area settings with exposure to oil, coolant, and metal residues
• Intermittent exposure to sounds or noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
• Requires long periods of standing.
• At times, work is completed in a manufacturing facility requiring appropriate protective equipment at all times

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Prolonged periods of walking, reaching, crouching, twisting, lifting, pushing, standing and sitting at a desk working on a computer
• Lift and carry a maximum of 45 pounds
• Wear protective eyewear and/or other protective gear correctly
