We are currently seeking a highly skilled Permanent Tool Grinder for a position in our Manufacturing division. This role is integral to our team, playing a crucial part in maintaining and improving the quality and efficiency of our production line. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Tool and Die work, with a keen eye for detail, precision, and a deep understanding of the manufacturing process. If you have a passion for creating and maintaining high-quality tools that drive the backbone of our production, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the setup and operation of tool grinding machines to sharpen or repair tools, fixtures, gauges, and cutters, according to specifications.
• Inspect, measure, and test completed tools to ensure they meet specified dimensions using precision measuring instruments.
• Select and mount grinding wheels on machines, according to specifications, using hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures.
• Perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
• Solve problems relating to unusual materials, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process.
• Collaborate with engineering, machine shop, and production personnel to develop and implement new product tooling and process improvements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Document and maintain tooling history records and tooling life-cycle data.
• Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tool Grinder or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
• Extensive knowledge of Tool and Die work, including the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.
• High level of manual dexterity and the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality, precision, and attention to detail.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime when necessary.
