Job Description

We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician reporting to our Michigan-based team but working REMOTELY from Illinois. It is ANCA’s preference that the candidate be based within a 2-hour radius of Chicago. This position will be reporting to the Branch Operations Manager. In this role, you will be providing professional service and technical support for ANCA CNC Machine Tool installations, breakdowns, quality, reliability, and product performance improvements.

Whilst the majority of this service work will take place in Chicago and its neighboring towns and cities, travel to neighboring states (IN, MO, WI, IA, MN) should also be expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair ANCA equipment while maintaining fine tolerances.
  2. Prepare detailed service reports on work performed.
  3. Rebuild and recondition CNC machines.
  4. Build and retain positive customer relationships that highlight ANCA’s strengths in service and support.
  5. Provide input/suggestions to enhance ANCA products to meet customer requirements.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  1. Demonstrated mechanical engineering skills and ability.
  2. Demonstrated electrical skills and ability.
  3. Experience in CNC programming (but not essential).
  4. Experience with Automation including Fanuc and Nachi robotic systems (but not essential).
  5. Experience with the operation of CNC machine tools in a production environment, ideally with tool and cutter grinding machines.
  6. Ability to investigate technical and service issues, with strong fault-finding skills.
  7. Frequent travel that includes overnight stays is to be expected.
