Job summary

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Tool Engineer 2 for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA. The role encompasses designing tooling, dies, gauges, drill & assembly jigs, fixtures, machine attachments and equipment for assembly, composite production or experimental use, focusing on accessibility, economy, mobility and performance.

The ideal candidate will hold a STEM degree with 3–9 years of experience, have NX CAD and CATIA proficiency, GD&T knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and 3-9 years of work experience.
• Experience with NX CAD and CATIA.
• Knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5 and drawing release criteria.
• Familiarity with fabrication processes, materials, and shop practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop tooling concepts and designs for assembly tooling, gauges, jigs and fixtures.
• Review designs for manufacturability, fit, form and function.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, operations and process engineering to support quality, cost and schedule goals.
• Assist in tooling project management including cost and fabrication oversight.
