Job summary

Responsibilities

Correct and improve tooling, jigs and fixtures for which responsibility is assigned.

• Develop, construct, and alter a wide variety of jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• Perform assignments ranging from ordinary tool room operations to work involving accurate relationships and extremely close tolerances.
• Reconstruct, repair and select proper materials.
• Make allowances for shrinkage during heat‑treating of tools and metal flows in dies.
• Identify and correct problems in complicated dies and tools.

• Tool & Die Asst. Mgr
• Tooling Mgr

Qualifications

• Certificate in Progressive Die & Design from an industry accredited program.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of professional experience in tool and die and machining in the related field.
• Experience in tool and die welding.

Leadership

• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures.
• Assist with associate skill development if assigned by Coordinator.
• Model and mentor proper process procedures and die or tool problem solving.

Service

• Help train associates in tooling and machining operations.
• Assist with die or tool repair planning.
• Complete all tool work orders and other documentation as required.
• Maintain continuous improvement of all assigned tooling.
• Support ISO-9001 requirements.
• Assist in maintaining professional communications within team and other facility teams.

Operations

• Confirm accuracy in die usage for production operation.
• Monitor product quality.
• Manage die maintenance area documentation.
• Manage ordering of all die maintenance supplies, replacement die parts, and maintain stock.
• Actively maintain 5S organization throughout the tool shop.
• Other duties assigned by Tool & Die Team Leader, Tool & Die Asst. Mgr, Tooling Mgr.
