Job summary

Westlake Royal Building Products in Columbus, OH is hiring a Tool & Die Technician to lead the tooling group supporting our vinyl siding extrusion operation.

You will install and maintain tooling, read drawings, and drive process improvements while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Eligible candidates have at least one year of industrial experience; AWS basic welding certification is a plus, and the position offers a competitive pay and benefits.

Pay Range $24.00- $27.46 per hour + $1,000 Sign-On Bonus

Westlake Royal Building Products, a vinyl siding manufacturer in Columbus OH, has a full-time opening for a Tool & Die Technician. This position supports our vinyl siding extrusion operation by leading a group tasked with installing and maintaining the tooling used to develop vinyl siding product profiles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors PVC extrusion operations to ensure the tool and die group is adequately supporting production
• Investigates and resolves product or process problems related to tooling
• Reads and properly interprets production schedules, product drawings, tooling drawings, and bills of process
• Gathers and analyzes data to determine potential problems with the tooling and effectively reports findings
• Identifies and develops process control improvement opportunities
• Communicates effectively. This includes the ability to listen, follow instructions, identify and record problems, and make recommendations to correct discrepancies

QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• One (1) year of industrial experience
• Desired: AWS basic welding certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must lift, carry and/or move up to 50 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, mobility to cover 2 facilities (North & South Plant) is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Noise level commensurate with large machinery. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times and steel toed shoes and long pants are required. Temperatures in the building, although maintained, can be affected by outside weather conditions.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The pay range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company.
