Job summary

Autokiniton Global Group in Belleville, MI is seeking a Tool Room Technician to support the Belleville Plant 2. You will lead die maintenance, participate in continuous improvement, and ensure accurate machining and inspection using precision tools. This full-time hourly role reports to the Tool Room Supervisor.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and Journeyman Toolmaker Card or 6 years' experience. Expect a collaborative, safety-focused environment with competitive wages.

• Prioritize and assign workload for team.

• Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions and visualizes products to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
• Perform extensive die maintenance such as rebuilding die sections, retiming pads and forms and engineering changes on all types of dies.
• Make decisions and judgments about proper course of action for repair and maintenance.
• Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures to recommend design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
• Determine specifications for inspection of work, using full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before, during and after machining

This Full-Time, hourly role is a part of our Autokiniton – Belleville 2 team and reports to the Tool Room Supervisor. #SkilledTradesHigh2

Required Experience

• Press room troubleshooting
• Diagnosis of problem and courses of action
• Tool room repair and maintenance work
• Tool Room machining practices
• Provide instruction and guidance in the use of tool room equipment.
• Performs activities of Journeyman and other associates in department.
• Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
• Promotes teamwork and shows a willingness to work with other departments.
• Punctual and regular attendance is required.
• Able and willing to work any shift assigned.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all duties.
• Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
• Participates in continuous improvement activities.
• Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.

Education:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency is required. Journeyman Tool makers Card or 6 years of experience
