Job summary

Equiliem is seeking a Tool and Die Maker in Bay Shore, NY to design, build, repair, and maintain tooling, dies, fixtures, and precision components. You will support production, prototype tooling, and process improvements with strong CAD, GD&T, and reading of engineering drawings.

The role requires 5+ years in a manufacturing environment, reading blueprints, GD&T, and operating manual machine shop equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a Tool and Die apprenticeship or equivalent technical training preferred.
• Tool and Die Maker certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of Tool and Die Maker experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD prints, and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, modify, repair, and maintain tooling, dies, fixtures, and machine components using engineering drawings, CAD files, or sample parts.
• Diagnose tooling issues and complete repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Manufacture precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, punches, and machine components.
• Support engineering with prototype tooling, product development, and process improvements.
• Perform precision grinding, milling, turning, drilling, and other machining operations.
• Inspect completed tooling using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Set up, adjust, and test tooling before production use.
• Operate manual machine shop equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and power presses.
• Maintain tooling records and communicate repair needs and recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow established safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
