Job summary

Staff Perm, LLC in Bay Shore, NY is seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to design, build, repair, and maintain tooling, dies, fixtures, and machine components in a busy shop.

You will read engineering blueprints, operate mills, lathes, grinders, and drills, and support process improvements with safety as a priority.

This right-to-hire role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with pay of $25–$30 per hour, plus weekly pay and medical/dental/vision benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of five years of Tool & Die Maker experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating manual machine shop equipment.
• Must be able to work Monday-Friday.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD prints, and GD&T.
• Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, modify, and repair tooling, dies, fixtures, and machine components from engineering drawings, CAD files, or sample parts.
• Diagnose tooling issues and perform repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Manufacture precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, punches, and machine components.
• Support Engineering with prototype tooling, product development, and process improvements.
• Perform precision grinding, milling, turning, drilling, and machining operations.
• Inspect completed tooling using precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Set up, adjust, and test tooling prior to production.
• Operate manual machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and power presses.
• Maintain tooling records and communicate repair recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
