Job summary

Staff Perm, LLC in Bay Shore, NY is seeking a skilled Precision Tool and Die Maker to design, build, and repair tooling, dies, fixtures, and machine components. You will operate a manual shop and read drawings to ensure accuracy in a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

This right-to-hire role offers weekly pay and benefits, a Monday–Friday schedule, and opportunities to work with engineers on prototypes and process improvements. Five years of Tool & Die experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least five years Tool & Die Maker experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating manual machine shop equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD prints, and GD&T.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work Monday–Friday.
• Excellent attention to detail and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, modify, and repair tooling, dies, fixtures, and machine components from drawings.
• Diagnose tooling issues and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
• Manufacture precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, punches, and machine components.
• Support Engineering with prototype tooling, product development, and process improvements.
• Perform precision grinding, milling, turning, drilling, and machining operations.
• Inspect tooling with precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Set up, adjust, and test tooling prior to production.
• Operate mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and power presses.
• Maintain tooling records and communicate repair recommendations.
• Follow safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
