Job summary

North American Stamping Group (NASG) in Portland, TN is seeking a Tool & Die maker to support tooling readiness for presses and oversee tool room activities. You will troubleshoot tooling issues, interpret prints, and collaborate with engineers to implement modifications.

A sign-on bonus applies after 52 weeks of employment. Preferred candidates have 3+ years in Tool and Die, high school diploma or GED, and CAD proficiency; apprenticeship completion is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Toolmaker or 5 years experience in Tool and Die field preferred.
• Apprenticeship program completion would be nice.
• Minimum 3 years Tool and Die maker experience.
• Willing to learn CAD and basic electronics for sensor program support.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot tooling problems at presses.
• Collaborate with all employees to continuously improve quality and production.
• Assist in production equipment maintenance as needed to maintain output.
• Requisition supplies and spare parts for tool room and dies and keep areas organized.
• Maintain clean work areas.
• Coordinate with outside tradesmen as required.
• Be available for overtime as required.
• Be available for training as required.
• Suggest methods of improvement (Continuous Improvement Plan).
• Interpret prints for tooling modifications, accuracy, and improvements.
• Work with Engineers to create or modify prints reflecting changes.
• Perform preventive maintenance by assignment.
• Willing to accept other duties from next level leader.
