Batesville Tool & Die, Inc. is seeking a skilled tool and die maker to repair, retime and write tolerances for stamping dies. You will troubleshoot using precision measurements and analyze stop-block readings to ensure parts meet specs.

The role covers full die ownership from start to finish in a shop with Proto Trak machines, DCM grinders, Plex/VISI CAD/CAM, and on-site Ivy Tech support for credentials. Competitive hourly pay and full benefits accompany a strong apprenticeship tradition.

Competenze

Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining stamping dies (progressive, transfer, compound or restrike).
Able to set up and run manual tool room machines (mills, lathes, surface grinders) from blueprint.
Strong trigonometry and shop math skills for die clearance and shear calculations.
Experience leading continuous improvement projects and engineering changes.
Mentor/co-op training experience with less experienced colleagues.

Mansioni

Maintain, repair and troubleshoot dies and related tooling to produce capable parts on time.
Complete tooling work orders and prep tooling for production readiness.
Troubleshoot dies using stop-block readings, solder checks and layout analysis.
Set up and operate manual tool room machines to machine parts from blueprints.
Lead continuous improvement projects and implement engineering changes.
