Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie in McKinney, TX is seeking a Tool & Die Maker to support manufacturing by constructing and machining dies. You will repair and build dies and prototypes, operate tool room machinery, and troubleshoot die issues to maintain quality and production.

The role requires practical CAD/CAM experience (AutoCAD preferred), an AA degree or equivalent, and at least five years in dies and tooling. Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork are essential; relocation may be

Qualifications

AA degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive dies and tools experience.
CAD/CAM: Ability to work with AutoCAD is a plus.
Communication: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Self-Management: Ability to be self-directed to solve issues and work independently.
Creative and Innovative Thinking: Ability to experiment with new ideas, methodologies, and procedures.
Teamwork: Ability to interact effectively with other technicians, employees, and vendors.

Responsibilities

Select, dress, set up, and use grinding wheels for surface grinding, and form grinding.
Hand grind, polish and finish die components.
Machines parts by using lathe, mill, drill press, and other typical shop equipment.
Verify dimensions, clearances, and alignment of parts and components with micrometers and gauges.
