Job summary

Strattec Security Corporation is seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to support tooling operations, develop tooling from drawings and IGES files, and collaborate with designers and engineers on automotive tooling projects.

You will operate CNCs, mills and lathes, ensure proper maintenance, and assist in training other technicians while maintaining a safe work environment. This role emphasizes precision, communication, and problem-solving in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

Journeyman card or 8 years of experience required.
Pre-employment physical and drug screen required.
Background check required.
Must be capable of independently producing tooling from provided tool drawings and/or I.G.E.S. files through final fit and assembly, according to proper toolroom methods.

Responsibilities

Perform activities to support toolmaking operations and create tooling from drawings, dies, gages, jigs and fixtures.
Work with maintenance personnel on tool builds and stamping tool projects.
Provide sketches to engineering for tooling and new machines.
Operate all toolroom machines and train others in their use.
Produce tools from tool drawings/IGES files through final fit and assembly.
Communicate with tool designers, engineers, vendors, and customers.
Maintain a clean, safe work area.
Troubleshoot and resolve tool repair issues.
Adjust schedules to respond to resource changes.
Assist in training Tool and Die Maker personnel.
