Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a skilled Toolmaker for our Michigan automotive manufacturing facility. You will analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges and hand tools.

You will read blueprints and manuals and apply CAD/CAM knowledge to design and create manufacturing instructions. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and a combination of apprenticeship-style training or extensive Tool Maker

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4 years of combined training similar to an apprenticeship as Tool Maker or Tool and Die Maker; OR DOL apprenticeship completed.
• 8 years of documented Tool Maker or Tool and Die Maker experience; OR 5 years in related trade with 3 years in related task.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine tools to cut, bore, finish parts to spec.
• Interpret blueprints and layouts to plan operations.
• Test and inspect tools to ensure conformance with design.
• Fit and assemble jigs, gauges, and tools using hand and machine tools.
• Maintain tooling and crossbars, adjust die sets, and troubleshoot faults.
