Job summary

Zobility in Louisville, KY is seeking an experienced Tool & Die/Mold Maker to plan and direct daily tool room functions supporting injection molding operations. You will maintain tooling, document in INFOR/EAM, and ensure safe, 5S-compliant work practices.

The role requires a Journeyman certificate, 3-5 years in injection molding/tooling and automotive experience, plus willingness to travel to customer sites. Training others and handling complex mold tasks are part of the job.

Qualifications

Must have a Journeyman Certification in Tool & Die / Mold Making.
3-5 years minimum experience with injection molding/tooling.
3-5 years minimum experience in the automotive industry.
Completion of formal apprenticeship program resulting in a Journeyman-level Tool and Die Maker.
Must be able to pass the aptitude test.
Must obtain Client forklift and crane operator licenses.
Willingness to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial plants.
Competent on shop equipment: Mill, Lathe, Surface Grinder, Welding (Tig and Laser), etc.
Competent in bench work: polishing, grinding, vents, and mold repair.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and direct daily tool room functions to ensure molding operations run smoothly.
Maintain tooling via maintenance programs and document work in INFOR / EAM.
Work safely observing 5S standards and procedures.
Complete all mold repairs, including disassembly/reassembly as needed.
Troubleshoot and repair molds in production (Press Calls).
Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer concerns.
Train others in troubleshooting techniques and tool shop operations.
Handle work orders in the system and communicate pass-down details.
