Job summary

Race Winning Brands is hiring a Tool and Die Maker I in Mentor, Ohio. You will build, repair and modify tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and molds, contributing to our high-precision manufacturing. Under supervision, you’ll learn with senior makers and help ensure tooling accuracy for production equipment.

You’ll run basic machines, interpret blueprints, and test finished work while maintaining safety, quality and efficiency. A strong attention to detail and basic CNC/ shop skills are desired.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Up to 2 years of related experience preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication with management and peers.

Responsibilities

• Put safety first and never pass on a defect, no matter what leaves your hands.
• Work like a pit crew and bring innovation to finding better, faster and smarter ways to work.
• Help build and repair basic machine shop tools using machining equipment and measuring instruments.
• Fabricate or help modify tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and molds from blueprints and sketches.
• Learn to calculate the dimensions and tolerances needed to set up machine tools, with review from senior Tool and Die Makers.
• Run basic lathes, grinders, milling and boring machines under supervision.
• Inspect finished work against blueprints and specifications and report any problems to senior staff.
• Take ownership of your work and look for ways to make it better.
• Help keep our workplace safe, organized and respectful.

Requirements

As a Tool and Die Maker I, you'll help build, repair and modify the tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and molds our shop depends on. You'll work under the direct guidance of supervisors and senior Tool and Die Makers, learning the trade through hands-on work. Your work helps keep our production equipment accurate and running.

What you bring:

• Clear verbal and written communication with both management and non-management associates.
• Basic understanding of, or willingness to learn, CNC machine tools and shop equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.

Nice to have:

Enrollment in, or willingness to enter, a tool and die or machinist apprenticeship program; prior shop, machining or mechanical experience; exposure to CAD/CAM software.
