Germantown Tool & Manufacturing began in 1955 as a small Philadelphia-based tool and die shop. With more than a half-century of experience, we have grown to become a diversified metal fabricator and supplier of metal engineering services. We supply a broad range of component parts and complete assemblies to a number of industries.
Germantown Tool is looking for a Tool Maker. This position will be responsible for working with computer-controlled machinery and mechanical equipment to cut, shape, and finish tools made out of metal.
BASIC FUNCTION: Design, build, and inspect jigs, fixtures, and dies in accordance with Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering requirements by performing the following duties.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
