Job summary

Datwyler is seeking a Tool & Die Maker to maintain production quality and efficiently use manufacturing equipment in line with established work instructions and GMP practices.

The role requires reading blueprints, operating all machine shop equipment including milling machines, lathes and surface grinders, and repairing high-speed stamping dies and plastic molds. A minimum of 4 years in a machine shop is required, with a High School or GED. On-site in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent required.
• 4 years minimum experience in a machine shop.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
• Must operate all machine shop equipment and perform setups.
• Familiarity with GMP and SOPs and a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and troubleshoot molds and dies on stamping presses and injection mold machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints and tolerance requirements; work to .0001” precision.
• Operate milling machines, lathes and grinders as part of daily production.
• Maintain production and quality performance in accordance with SOPs and Work Instructions.

Position Summary

The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for maintaining production, quality performance levels, and the efficient use of manufacturing equipment in accordance with his/her knowledge and training in conformance with established Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice.

Essential Functions

• Must be able to read blueprints
• Must be able to operate all machine shop equipment
• Milling machines (manual and CNC), lathes, surface grinders and other equipment
• Experience servicing repairing progressive high speed stamping dies
• Experience servicing and repairing high cavitation plastic injection molds
• Must be able to work unsupervised to a tolerance of .0001”
• Responsible for setting up and troubleshooting molds and dies – Schaal high speed stamping presses, Sumitomo plastic mold injection machines

Your Profile

Education and Experience

• High School or GED equivalent required.
• 4 years minimum experience in machine shop role.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to speak, read and write English in order to understand operating and other related procedures
• Able to communicate goals in an inspirational manner that makes them worthy of pursuit
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic skills.
• Performs basic computer skills
• Ability to learn and implement GMP, SOPs and other procedures.
