Manpower, Inc. in South Minneapolis, MN is hiring a Tool & Die Maker for first shift (7:00AM - 3:30PM, M-F).

The ideal candidate has at least 6 years of experience with semi-permanent dies, layout work, and short run stamping through progressive dies. Responsibilities include designing, constructing, or repairing intricate tools and fixtures to close tolerances; performing development work; fitting, timing, and using CAD/KEY and CNC lathe.

• Ability to read complex drawings and perform precision measurement.

• Plan, design, construct, or repair tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures to close tolerances.
• Perform development work and create tools where designs are unavailable.

• Fit, adjust, and time tools and machinery with precision.

Tool & Die Maker - Up to $40/hr
Location: South Minneapolis, MN
1st shift: 7:00AM - 3:30PM, M-F
Pay Rate: Up to $40/hr
Relocation Bonus Available

Position Summary:

An ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience as a tool and die maker and have experience with semi-permanent dies, layout work, and knowledge of short run stamping through progressive dies.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, construct, or repair a wide variety of highly intricate and complicated tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures to extremely close tolerances.
• Perform difficult development work and construct tools where no design is available.
• Select allowances and device mechanism details.
• Perform highly skilled fitting, adjusting, and timing of tools and machinery.
• Perform work involving multi-station progressive dies, intricate compound dies of irregular shape, subpress dies for parts of delicate outline, and complex index milling fixtures.
• Perform any tool room machine operation, including CAD/KEY, CNC lathe, and other technologies required for toolroom operations.
• Work from complicated drawings and sketches.
• Use advanced shop mathematics and all types of precision measuring instruments.
• Apply a high degree of experience, trade skill, and thorough knowledge of machine shop practice.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Possess or be willing to purchase the required inspection and hand tools upon acceptance of the job offer
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• Toolmaker experience (6+ years)
• Experience with progressive dies

Education:

• CNC/Machine Tool Technology (or equivalent) degree or certificate
