Are you a skilled craftsman with a knack for precision and a keen eye for detail? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our dynamic team. This role is suited for a hardworking, innovative individual who is passionate about the manufacturing industry. As a Tool & Die Maker, you will perform a critical role in our production process, crafting and modifying specific tools and dies according to precise specifications. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment, where every day brings new challenges and the chance to work on a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

As a Tool & Die Maker, your primary responsibilities will include

  • Analyzing and interpreting complex blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
  • Setting up and operating conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools to cut, drill, mill, or grind parts to the required specifications.
  • Fitting and assembling parts to create or repair dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures.
  • Inspecting finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects, using measuring instruments such as surface plates, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Conducting test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Collaborating with other team members and departments to optimize production processes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Tool & Die Maker position should possess the following

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in tool and die making or a related field.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and specifications.
  • Extensive experience in metalworking, including cutting, drilling, milling, and grinding.
  • Strong knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting tools and dies.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training in tool and die technology is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and work on your feet for extended periods.
