Job summary

Westlake Pipe & Fittings, a leading PVC pipe and fittings manufacturer, seeks a skilled machinist to operate conventional machine shop equipment and support tooling for injection molding projects.

You will read engineering drawings, take precise measurements, select equipment, and ensure work is completed safely and on time. Strong math and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from an accredited machine shop or tool and die vocational school preferred.
• Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in math; basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of metal properties and other materials.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains all conventional machine shop equipment (lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.).
• Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate work.
• Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
• Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
• Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
• Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
