Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. is seeking a Tool and Die Lead to safely maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on progressive dies. You will also supervise toolmakers and technicians, scheduling work, coaching, and identifying training opportunities.

The role follows a Monday-Thursday night shift (4:00 pm - 2:30 am) with potential overtime. The position requires 3–4 years of related experience, strong leadership, and proficiency with tooling measurements, blueprints,

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college.
• 3-4 years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to tooling dimensions, tolerances and measurements.
• Knowledge of elimination of waste, continuous improvement, 5S, Kaizen & Kanban.
• Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and in small groups.
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings (blueprints) and stay current with revisions.

Responsibilities

• Perform die changeovers and preventive maintenance on dies.
• Lead and coach die shop staff; set expectations and provide feedback.
• Oversee setup, repair, modification, maintenance and operation of progressive dies.
• Cross-train team; manage daily goals and shift handoffs.
• Coordinate daily operations and inter-department communication.
• Order tool room supplies and manage tooling inventory.
• Coordinate tooling work with outside vendors and oversee inventory levels.
