Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. is hiring a Tool and Die Lead in Columbus, OH. You will safely maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on progressive dies, while guiding toolmakers and technicians through coaching and scheduling.

The role emphasizes leadership, quality, and collaboration across the plant. The position requires an Associate degree or equivalent, 3–4 years of related experience, and strong skills in communication, problem solving, and reading blueprints.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college.
• 3-4 years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings and blueprints.
• Proficiency with measurement tools and precision tolerances.
• Strong communication and teamwork across shifts and departments.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and OSHA rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach toolroom staff, set expectations, provide feedback and recognition.
• Perform die changeovers, maintenance, cleaning and inspection of dies.
• Oversee setup, repair and operation of progressive dies; ensure quality.
• Coordinate daily operations and cross‑department collaboration.
• Prioritize tasks, manage tools and order supplies; communicate status.
• Collaborate with vendors and manage inventory of tooling components.
