American Trim invites applications for its Tool & Die Apprentice program in Ohio. This paid apprenticeship leads toward a State-Certified Apprentice Program and eventual Registered Journeyperson status. Participants train in our in-house classroom and lab while gaining hands-on on-the-job experience.

Under supervision, apprentices will learn to build, repair and replace tooling for various machines, with a strong focus on safety, communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Commitment to completing the Registered American Trim Apprenticeship Program.
• Strong interest in hands-on work and problem-solving.
• Successful program completion determined by classroom and on-the-job performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on dies, jigs, fixtures and transfer units.
• Set up, operate and maintain service on tools such as lathes, milling machines, shaper and grinder.
• Read and interpret blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions for the part.
• Comply with all safety standards and housekeeping practices.
• Troubleshoot dies, jigs and fixtures; participate in continuous improvement.
