Job summary

American Trim offers a State-Certified Apprenticeship Program to become a Registered Journeyperson Tool and Die Maker. The program includes classroom instruction, hands-on lab training, and on-the-job experience under supervision to develop proficiency in tool and die skills.

Emphasis is placed on safety, communication, and productive contribution. The apprentice will learn to build, repair, and replace tooling for machines with a focus on quality, efficiency, and adherence to safety procedures

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Commitment to completing the Registered American Trim Apprenticeship Program (up to two years of classroom, lab, and on-the-job training).
Interest in hands-on work and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on dies, jigs, fixtures and transfer units; repair, adjust, sharpen, and upkeep.
Read and interpret blueprints and verbal/written instructions for parts.
Set up, operate, and maintain machines to shape parts and verify conformance to specifications.
Troubleshoot dies, jigs, fixtures and transfer units.
Assist in maintaining inventory and compliance with safety standards.
