Job summary
Aptiv is seeking a College Intern to join the Connection Systems North America team as a Tool Design Engineer (Injection Molding). You will help design and develop plastic injection mold tools for automotive components, while collaborating with product engineering and suppliers to drive efficiency and learn best practices globally.
The role emphasizes hands-on design, measurement, and experimentation within a dynamic, international company, offering growth opportunities in a leading mobility
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics, Tooling Engineering, or related field.
- Proficient in CAD; experience with Unigraphics NX preferred.
- Strong grasp of close tolerance tooling and measurement devices.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- Ability to read tool and part prints and perform measurements.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop injection mold tools for automotive plastics.
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce waste and improve uptime.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering on new development from concept to production.
- Coordinate with internal tool suppliers for tool design and build activities.
- Share and learn best practices with Aptiv's global teams.
