Aptiv is seeking a College Intern to join the Connection Systems North America team as a Tool Design Engineer (Injection Molding). You will help design and develop plastic injection mold tools for automotive components, while collaborating with product engineering and suppliers to drive efficiency and learn best practices globally.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, measurement, and experimentation within a dynamic, international company, offering growth opportunities in a leading mobility

Competenze

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics, Tooling Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in CAD; experience with Unigraphics NX preferred.
• Strong grasp of close tolerance tooling and measurement devices.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to read tool and part prints and perform measurements.

Your Role

We are seeking a College Intern with interest in becoming a Tool Design Engineer (Injection Molding ) to join our Connection Systems North America (CS NA) team within our Signal & Power Solutions segment. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of Plastic Injection Mold Tools for the automotive industry.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and Develop Cutting-Edge Injection Mold Tools: Supporting the production of critical automotive plastic components.


• Drive Continuous Improvement: Optimize existing tools to reduce waste, improve uptime, and enhance overall efficiency.


• Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with Product Engineering on new product development, from concept to production.


• Partner with Suppliers: Collaborate with internal tool suppliers for tool design and build activities.


• Global Knowledge Sharing: Share and learn best practices with Aptiv's global teams.

Your Background

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Tooling Engineering, or a related field.


• Proficiency in Cad, ideally Unigraphics 3DNX.


• Strong understanding of close tolerance tools and measuring devices.


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.


• Ability to interpret tool and part prints, perform measurements, and conduct experiments.


• Strong organizational, prioritization, and critical thinking skills.


• Adaptability to rapidly changing environments.


• Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of an organization.


• Strong presence and communication skills.
