Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a College Intern to join the Connection Systems North America team as a Tool Design Engineer intern focused on injection molding tools for automotive plastics. You will design, develop and optimize tools while collaborating with product engineering and suppliers.

This internship offers hands-on experience in metrology, prints interpretation, and cross-functional teamwork within a global mobility company; strong CAD skills and communication in English are required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong CAD proficiency, ideally Unigraphics NX.
• Ability to read and interpret tool and part prints.
• Experience with precision measurement tools and metrology.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Strong organization, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptable to fast-changing environments and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop injection mold tools for automotive plastic components.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce waste and improve uptime.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering on new product development from concept to production.
• Coordinate with internal tool suppliers for tool design and build activities.
• Share best practices with Aptiv's global teams.
