Job summary

Atlas Fibre in Northbrook, IL is seeking a Tool Crib Manager to oversee tool and equipment inventory, issue tools to production, and maintain precise records in a modern inventory system. The role requires experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting and familiarity with hand tools, precision instruments, and CNC tooling.

You will ensure accurate check-in/check-out, inspect tools for wear, and coordinate with maintenance for repairs or reconditioning.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of Tool Crib operations, inventory control, or manufacturing support experience.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, machine tools, and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Issue and receive tools, equipment, and supplies to production and maintenance personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of tool check-in/check-out and update inventory management systems.
• Inspect tools and equipment for wear, damage, or calibration needs; arrange for repair, replacement, or reconditioning.
• Store tools in designated locations, ensuring labeling and organization for easy access.
• Monitor tool inventory and notify supervisor of shortages or reorder needs.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts and audits of tools and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized tool crib environment.
• Support continuous improvement by suggesting efficiency and cost-control ideas.
