Job summary

Petersen is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to support Production by building tool assemblies to prints and delivering ready tooling to the machine shop. The role emphasizes accuracy, attentiveness, and reliable on-time tooling to meet aerospace and defense standards.

Responsibilities include assembling tool components, verifying tolerances with calipers and micrometers, and maintaining a clean, organized crib. Training is provided, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• No prior tool crib experience required; training provided.
• Must be able to read tool prints and build assemblies to print tolerances.
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and indicators preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build cutting tool assemblies (holders, collets, cutters, inserts, extensions) to prints.
• Set and verify lengths and dimensions to print tolerance using a tool pre-setter.
• Install/remove tools in heat-shrink holders; inspect components for wear or damage.
• Maintain tool kits and carts, stock items, and support lean practices.
• Train and mentor staff on tooling handling and documentation.
